Introduction 👋
Hi guys, welcome. I’m Prashant, founder of Wordpandit and the Learning Inc. Network.
Here’s the CAT 2025 VARC strategy you’ve been waiting for.
My first tip: follow logical, rational advice and ignore unnecessary noise.
Step 1: Finish Your Concepts First 🧱
The first step is simple—complete your basics. At this stage, don’t hoard material.
If you’ve been preparing for long, this should already be done. If not—consider it a warning sign!
Step 2: Daily Practice and Analysis 🔁
Practice is where real progress happens. Follow this daily rule:
- Minimum 3 RCs per day OR
- 10 VA questions per day
Maintain flow—aim for at least 20 RCs and 70 VA questions every week.
Step 3: Fix Your Content Gaps 🧩
Identify topics you struggle with. In CAT RC, five major subjects dominate:
- Politics 🏛️
- Economics 💹
- Philosophy 📚
- Psychology 🧠
- Sociology 👥
Spend 7–10 days per topic (14 for Philosophy).
Build familiarity—your discomfort is only due to lack of exposure.
Step 4: Apply to VA Questions Too 📝
Content gaps affect VA as well. For example, Paragraph Summary is like a mini-RC.
As your content base grows, comprehension improves naturally.
Step 5: Focus on Weak Question Types 🎯
Identify the RC question types you often get wrong: inference, tone, main idea, detail.
Then practice them deliberately until accuracy improves.
Your daily target now:
- 3 RCs or 10 VA questions
- Work on weak content areas
- Focus on problem question types
Step 6: Section Tests & Mock Tests 🧪
Testing is the next layer. Experiment with approaches:
- Attempt-based: Try all questions, accuracy may drop.
- Accuracy-based: Attempt fewer, focus on high accuracy.
- Middle-path: Balanced attempts and accuracy.
Before each test, decide your approach. Scores don’t matter—learning does.
Treat this like a lab experiment. Take 1–3 section tests weekly and also full mocks for benchmarking.
Step 7: The Effort Mindset 💪
There are no magic shortcuts. Success in VARC comes only through consistent effort, not quick hacks.
The process may be tough, but patience and repetition lead to results.
Conclusion 🚀
CAT 2025 VARC success = process:
- Finish your concepts
- Daily practice & analysis
- Strengthen weak content areas
- Fix recurring mistakes
- Experiment with tests
- Adopt an effort-first mindset
Follow this roadmap for the next few months and maximize your chances of achieving your dream score.
